TurboTube
TurboTube is a hydrodynamic aeration diffuser developed locally by Maskoub. Instead of forcing air through thousands of fine, clog-prone pores, it releases air through a single large opening, then mixes it vigorously with water and sludge inside its body using a helical flow and fine separators — dissolving oxygen and mixing the tank at the same time, with no moving parts.

A porous diffuser relies on bubble size alone; sludge seeps into its pores and dries in the hot blower air, gradually clogging them. TurboTube relies on forced mixing: a helical flow, then impact against rows of mushroom-shaped separators, then breakup into fine particles.
The rapid rise of air inside the tube creates negative pressure that draws sludge from the tank floor, preventing settling and mixing the entire tank.
Large air opening
Air enters through a wide nozzle on the axis, so there are no pores to clog.
Sludge withdrawal
Negative pressure draws sludge from the floor into the tube.
Helical flow
The guide vane and central body turn the mixture into a strong vortex.
Mushroom separators
Rows of protrusions break up the mixture and force the oxygen to dissolve.
Two bubble types
Coarse bubbles mix the tank; fine bubbles raise dissolved oxygen.
Key advantages
Non-clogging
No fine pores.
Low air resistance
Lower load on the blower.
Prevents settling
Draws deposits from the floor.
Installation without draining
and without floor anchoring; the rising flow holds it in place.
No moving parts
and no periodic replacement parts.
Corrosion-resistant plastic
Local manufacturing and support.
Technical specifications
| Material | Plastic |
|---|---|
| Moving parts | None |
| Installation | On the tank floor, without draining or anchoring |
| Oxygen transfer efficiency / alpha factor / air resistance | To be published on completion of Maskoub's test program |

Maskoub has completed initial operating trials in a test tank. Validated performance measurements will be published once complete.
Comparison with conventional systems
| Parameter | Porous diffuser | TurboTube |
|---|---|---|
| Oxygen dissolution method | Contact area from small bubbles | Forced mixing of air, water and sludge |
| Clogging | Fouls with sludge over time | No fine pores; self-cleaning by the flow |
| Air resistance | Increases with clogging | Low and stable |
| Mixing and settling prevention | Weak | Strong; draws sludge from the floor |
| Installation and maintenance | Tank draining, cleaning and periodic replacement | No draining, no moving parts |
Applications
From the Maskoub stand at AquaEnergy Expo
“One large air opening instead of thousands of pores; it's the hydrodynamic mixing that dissolves the oxygen.”
